Mauricio Pochettino branded the 3-0 win for Tottenham against Bournemouth

Mauricio Pochettino branded the 3-0 win for Tottenham against Bournemouth as a complete performance from his players. Any nervousness ahead of the game was quickly put aside thanks to an early goal from Harry Kane.

The striker has rediscovered his scoring touch in the second half of the campaign. He took his season’s tally to 23 goals with this opening effort inside a minute. This completely destroyed any game plan that Bournemouth had to stop the title chasing outfit. The game was made a relatively safe with Kane doubling his tally inside the 20th minute.
Three points were then confirmed with Christian Eriksen scoring a goal just after half-time. These points were off great importance to Tottenham since it keeps them in touching distance of table leaders Leicester. Claudio Ranieri’s team had managed a narrow 1-0 win against Crystal Palace away from home. Hence, Tottenham had no other option but to at least match their rival’s result in order to stay in the race for the title. Arsenal also won their game against Everton on Saturday to close the gap on Tottenham. Pochettino claims that Spurs have been showing more maturity in recent weeks and the performance against Bournemouth is a testament of this fact.

“It’s true that we need to reduce the gap Leicester have with us, Arsenal and Manchester City, and it’s true they have a good advantage. But we need to keep fighting and believing. We need to believe we can catch them. We have to keep our standards up and go into the next game looking to perform like this again. Today was complete. It helped us to score early in the game, in the first action, and we controlled and managed the game very well after that,” said Pochettino. The club’s next match is against Liverpool at Anfield.
