United have spent more than £100m on Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof this summer, but he insists that they are not favourites for the English title considering the transfer activity of Manchester City, who have spent more than double the figure. Meanwhile, the Portuguese manager already had a special praise for Tottenham Hotspur, who have not spent a penny during this summer’s transfer window.
Spurs have made a good profit of £50m from the sale of Kyle Walker to City, but Mauricio Pochettino is content with the options at hand ahead of the new season. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that his side have improved a lot defensively and this should start an improvement in terms of fortunes going forward.
Spurs made a poor start to the season after going winless in the first few matches of the campaign. However, they have now secured back-to-back victories after a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday. This was also the first home win of the season for Pochettino’s team. Summer signing Heung-Min Son, who was brought in from Bundesliga for over £ 20 million, scored the only goal of the game to open his account for Spurs.
Many expected a reaction from Crystal Palace, who came into the game after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat against Manchester City in the previous game.
