Alderweireld: People don’t see the hard work

Tottenham player Toby Alderweireld believes that there are many better days to come for the Spurs. With the win over Arsenal, they have gained more confidence and the defender backing up his club has said that the club will be pushing forward in their game and will show the true potential.

Alderweireld gave the lead for the club with just nine minutes left in the game becoming the hero of the game. Arsenal was the one leading the game with the early goal from Alexandre Lacazette but the holes in the defence lead Son Heung Min to score an equaliser to the goal soon. With the victory against them, they were able to move to eighth position on the Premier League. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho believes that this win will make them stronger and help them make a better start to the new campaign, which is set to start in just a few short weeks time. Harry Kane cuts a frustrated figure upfront at Tottenham Hotspurs. The striker seems rushed from injury with the lockdown not helping matters. He has scored twice since the Premier League restarted but such returns after six games is his worse tally in over five years.

Kane has scored 19 times after 31 games in all competitions, which is an impressive return but for the Three Lions star the standard is higher. An argument can be made that the new Spurs setup does not favour him as much.

Southgate Pleased to Make an Impact with England


Gareth Southgate has claimed that the England job has become a more fulfilling than any of his previous jobs, as it is possible to have a stronger impact on the society while trying to create something good. After showing a lot of promise in the early years of his managerial career, Southgate could not make it to the top level in club football. However, he was brought in as the England manager in 2016 against much surprise. After nearly spending four years as the top boss in England, Southgate says that a lot of impact has been created on him personally.

The former Middlesbrough manager has made a lot of changes to the setup. One of the key among them would be the 2018 World Cup, when England reached the semifinals against all the odds. Furthermore, the team also managed a third place finish in the Nations League that was recently held. It remains to be seen if Southgate will be retained as the England manager after the World Cup 2022, as his contract expires. Due to the lockdown measures, football has come to a halt and England were not involved in matches during March. This has given Southgate plenty of time to reflect on his job as the national team coach.

Sabitzer happy to be linked with Tottenham

Marcel Sabitzer has put forward a good performance in the season which has attracted many clubs to him. He himself has explained that he is interested to move to England and try his chances in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur is one of the clubs that has shown frequent interest in the midfielder.

The Austrian footballer currently plays for the German club, RB Leipzig. In a previous match between Spurs and Leipzig, the latter defeated the former for three goals to none. In the game, two of these goals were scored by Sabitzer.

Barcelona Will Profit from SigningNdombele, says Bent

Darren Bent believes that when the transfer window opens Barcelona will be interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele. The player was signed by Tottenham Hotspur for £63 million from Lyon in the last year. Even though being an exceptional player, he was unable to find his foot in the club. Bent believes that he isn’t comfortable in the club and that’s why is unable to find his footing in the team. He also thinks Barcelona will be a better place for him. The French footballer has played or Spurs in 27 games and has scored a couple of goals and four assists. He was taken by the club for a five-year contract.

He has been always one of the first options for the club but he hasn’t played up to his expectations. He has faced criticism from both the club and its supporters for his low contribution to the club. He has also been racked up by many injuries which have affected his game. Jose Mourinho criticised him publically after the game against Burnley which ended in a tie. He is expected to be more productive to the team according to Mourinho.

Kevin Phillips urges Tottenham to sign Chelsea winger this summer

Former Premier League star Kevin Phillips has urged Tottenham Hotspur to land the signature of Willian on a free transfer in the summer. The Brazil international has been with Chelsea for the past six-and-a-half years but he appears likely to leave them on a free when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 31-year-old has been in discussions over a renewed deal with the west London side but so far, there has not been any progress with the Blues reluctant to meet his demands for a three-year contract. As a result, Willian has been fancied to make a move across London to either Tottenham or Arsenal and Phillips believes the former would suit the Brazilian.

Mauricio Pochettino open to Premier League return this summer

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that he would welcome a return to the Premier League with another outfit. The Argentine was sacked during the November international break with Spurs languishing in the bottom half of the standings and the club thereafter took the decision to appoint Jose Mourinho at the helm.

Under Mourinho, the north London side have moved from the 14th spot to fifth in the matter of a couple of months and they are currently within four points off the Champions League places. Speaking to Sky Sports News, Pochettino has now revealed that he would prefer a return to Premier League football but he is prepared to remain patient for the next job.

Jose Mourinho praises incredible performance from Tottenham midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Dele Alli following another impressive Premier League performance. The England international has been Spurs’ standout player since the appointment of Mourinho at the helm last month and he came up with the crucial winner in the 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Boxing Day.

The north London side had a goal chalked off for offside in the first half and they went into the break with a deficit after Adam Webster scored from a corner for Brighton. However, they managed to level the scores shortly after the interval through Harry Kane before Alli came up with a quick strike on goal from a Serge Aurier pass.

Luke Shaw talks up Daniel James’ dribbling ability with speed

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has said that teammate Daniel James is different from many young players in the Premier League, given his ability to dribble while moving at high speeds. The Wales international was largely an unknown to the United faithful during the summer transfer window after he made the move from the Championship side Swansea City.

Since then, the 21-year-old has made his mark with three league goals and he is currently regarded as one of the undisputed starters under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Speaking on Sky Sports, Shaw raved about the pace attribute of the former Swans ace and said that it is difficult to counter him when he is dribbling with speed, he told: “He is unbelievably fast. It is quite scary at times in training. Some people don’t realise how quick he is until he has taken the ball and gone. It’s not just his pace, he’s good with the ball. He likes to run in behind but he can come short as well.”

Reputed football expert Duncan Castles has said that Mauricio Pochettino could be heading out of Tottenham Hotspur in the near future. The Argentine has come under immense pressure with the embarrassing defeats to Colchester United, Bayern Munich and Brighton & Hove Albion this term and there are claims that he could walk out of the club before the end of the campaign.
