Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies has expressed his pleasure after Mauricio Pochettino signed a new five-year deal with the north London club. The Argentine’s future had been rated doubtful following Spurs’ failure to win a trophy last season but he has now extended his stay until the summer of 2023.
Speaking to BBC Sport Wales, Davies was pleased with the work done by the Argentine head coach and he is hoping that Spurs can now reach the next level by winning trophies, he said: “Yeah, I can understand what he’s saying. Now it’s all about trying to reach that next level and, as players, we want to do the same. That’s great news for us as a club and it’s fantastic to see him staying on. He’s been amazing to work under and it’s nice to see that continue.”
